Without a doubt was Aerosmith in '98 and Def Leppard anytime they are gracious enough to honor Sioux Falls with their presence. Which i hope either one or both bands do again ASAP!!!!! Very Happy

I saw Elvis as a young lad, one of the best concerts I've seen, it's in my top 5.

I saw Kiss with Wendy O'Williams. Kiss sucked (this was on there down hill slide with a new guitar player and new drummer) Their stage show was nothing like it once was, it just plain sucked. Wendy O actually scared me, she was strange.

What about Rush?(Early 80's) Cheap Trick? (back in the late 70's)

Uriah Heep, Arena rock sometime in the '70s, a wholly altered state!
Dylan, 1990, even from the bleachers.

Although they weren't on the list, the Def Leppard concert I went to in high school (must be at least 17 years ago now?) has to have been the best concert I've ever gone to, period. I vividly remember being disappointed that we ONLY had first row on the middle of the balcony and when we got there found out the stage was in the round, in the center and we had the best seat in the house! To this day, I still thank my older brother for the best birthday present ever!

The best concert in Sioux Falls.....

I have a few:

Kansas and Starship at Ribfest 2007.
Audio Adrenaline and Mercy Me at the Arena in Feb. of 2007

Also, anytime and anyplace that Kory and the Fireflies perform. They're a local favorite of mine.

SRV the Arena...1990 I believe. Shortly before his tragic death. (Possibly his second to last concert prior to death; just like Elvis...I'm not sure on SRV but I know Elvis did his second to last here) Simply the best show ever in Sioux Falls IMO.

The Cult and Metallica same year.

Green Day Nordic Hall 1980something.

Violent Femmes at the Rec Center 1985 or 86.

God first concert I took a girl too Quiet Riot and Helix...1984..maybe 83.

(God it sucks getting old)

Kid Rock was good here a few years ago...much better then I expected him to be.

Wow the "artists" in the Argus pole sucked!!! How about these gems:

Marilyn Manson and Korn opening for Danzing. No one know any of these other bands (but we did) and they just walked up and down the street infront of the Pomp room and no one bothered them. Korn only played for about 20 min and Manson played about 50 min sets. But it was great.

Steve Earle at the Pomp Room. He was like me hero and I wanted to see the show so bad. I boutght my ticket went to the show and Ward wouldn/t let me in, I was underage. So I sat by the back doors in the upper parking lot listening to the first bit of "Christmas Time in Washington" when some guy (how had a few drinks) said, "Why you sittin out here? IT'S STEVE EARLE!" I told him I was underage and he said' "It's STEVE EARLE!" He let me in and I sat on the steps the entire time of the show which was amazing. I even got to meet Steve after that show. HA HA Ward!!! Steve was also wonderful at the Orpheum a few years back, but it wasn/t as good as the first time.

Slipknot at Twisters in Tea. I believe the oppend for Coal Chamber. Brutal, viloent, and LOUD. They were awsome. Fastroward a few years, they played the Expo building same great show. And now, Stone Sour. WTF!?!?!?!? Everyone can now say "remember that band slipknot? They were awsome." Some things don'g get better with age.

Six String Drag and the V-Roys pomp Room. Again I was underage and these guys were on Steve Earles record lable, I wasn/t going to miss this, and I didn't. Me and about 4 other folks saw it and it was great!!

NIN at the arena. THAT was an awsome show. I never really like Trent but that show was awsome. He did not disapoint.

Other great shows:
Th' legendary Shack Shakers (CHECK THESE GUYS OUT!)
Kottonmouth Kings
Soulfly
Bloodhound Gang
Skankin Pickle
Sick of It All
SNAKEBEARD JACKSON ANYTIME!!!
I know the list could go on.................................

Ones I missed and wish I could have seen:

Todd Snider
John Prine
insane Clown Posse ( I was there the first time, missed the second go round)
White Zombie
Rancid
again, this list could go on and on too I/m sure

The Nine Inch Nails show was a great show and will always be the first concert I ever attended. When Ozzy was here in 96 that was a great show too, one that I will never regret going to. Very Happy

I missed the Metallica and Aerosmith concerts, which really bites. Mad

But I dont care what anyone says, the Elton John concert will be the greatest concert I have ever seen or will ever see in Sioux Falls. He is such a legand and we should be forever greatful that he chose our little town as a stop on his tour. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

It has also been brought to my attention from someone in the "know" that the Gart Brooks concerte series that took place here ruined every concert since that show. The reason being, Garth did 6 or 7 shows here and tickets were less then $20. No, no one in this city wants to pay more than 20 for a show. Granted, we have had shows with higher ticket prices since then that, that have sold out. But in the overall spectram of things, that concert set the bar in this town for what people want to pay for a product. even when smaller clubs would bring in a mid-level act, it would fail due to the fact that no one wants to pay to see live music in this town if the price is 10-15 bucks. Its really sad. WE NEED AN EVENTS CENTER!!! Well no, we don/t, we wont use it the way it should be used. (dont get me started on the mayors PUT IT ON THE RIVER TO HELP MY FRINEDS project). We need a mid level club with the support of the cities people (one that all these "promoters," they call themselves, can agree on and support and advertise). then that will help a larger event facility. But we as a community will not support that. And God help us, THE 80's ARE OVER PEOPLE!!!! Def Leppord, Motley Crew, Kansas, KORY AND THE BUTTERFLYS??!?!?!?!! COME ON PEOPLE WAKE UP WE ARE A JOKE TO EVERYONE else. We are stuck in the 80's and early 90's and it sucks. Thanks KRRO, thanks tank tops, the mullet, cameros, and Garth Brooks for hurting concerts in our town.
